The Seoul Central District Court sentenced Kim, who was charged with fraud, to 15 years in prison in the second trial today (12th).
The sentence was reduced by 10 years from the 25 years in prison sentenced in the first trial, and the two daughters who lent their names to Kim were also reduced from two years in prison to one and a half years in prison and three years of probation, respectively.
The court judged that the amount of damage was significant compared to other charter fraud cases, and that most of the victims were new to society.
However, he explained that the amount intercepted was considerably less than the rental deposit, and many victims took into account the fact that the damage was actually recovered through the guarantee contract by the Housing and Urban Guarantee Corporation.
They are accused of buying real estate without equity capital and stealing 79.5 billion won from 355 tenants from April 2017 to 2020.
