Earlier, the impeachment of Lee Jin-sook, chairman of the Korea Communications Commission, Choi Hae-sa, chairman of the Board of Audit and Inspection, and Lee Chang-soo, chief of the Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office, was also handed over to the Constitutional Court, with two more cases today, bringing the total number of impeachment cases filed this year to seven.
This is equivalent to the total number of impeachment cases filed for 35 years from the opening of the Constitutional Court in 1988 to last year.
The impeachment bill against prosecutor Son Joon-sung, which was filed last year, is still pending, so there are eight impeachment bills that the Constitutional Court should hear in the future.
