The Korean Medical Education Association, an academic organization for medical education, issued a statement criticizing that there still seems to be no reflection on defining medical personnel guarding the site as anti-state forces in a chaotic situation.
The martial law command decree, announced shortly after the declaration of the emergency martial law on the 3rd, drew public outrage from the medical community, saying, "All medical personnel who are on strike or have left the medical field will return within 48 hours, and in case of violations, they will be punished by martial law."
