The leaders of China and Russia have reaffirmed their position to exchange congratulations for the new year of 2025 and continue "strategic cooperation" on the international stage.

In a New Year's celebration to Russian President Vladimir Putin, Chinese President Xi Jinping said, "We are willing to solidify China-Russia relations in a new era of permanent good-natured friendship, full-scale strategic cooperation and reciprocal cooperation."
