The group's management belatedly apologized to the bereaved families for holding an end-of-year giveaway after the plane disaster at a hotel affiliated with Jeju Air's parent company, Aekyung Group.AK Holdings CEO Ko Jun
said, "Everything, including the prize event, is true," adding, "I apologize with a terrible feeling."

He then promised to prevent a recurrence, saying, "The hotel is commissioned, but it is my fault to manage Aekyung Group management."

However, Aekyung Group explained the bereaved family's request that Chairman Jang Young-shin come to Muan Airport in person and apologize, to the effect that the chairman could not come because he was being treated in the intensive care unit.
