The world's oldest person, Tomiko Itooka, died on December 29 last year at the age of 116, Japanese media reported.

Born in Osaka on May 23, 1908, the deceased had recently lived in an elderly facility in Asiyashi and died of old age, according to Japan's Asiyashi City.

Domico was listed as the world's oldest person in the Guinness World Records after a 117-year-old woman died in Spain in August last year.
