[Incheon] Incheon AI Signal Optimization...Increase traffic speed and reduce delay time

The AI signal optimization system in 10 sections of the city's main road introduced by Incheon City in 2023 and last year has been shown to be effective in improving traffic congestion, with an average traffic speed of 4.4% and an average of 8% reduction in delay time.

It was analyzed that this resulted in nearly 10 billion economic benefits per year.

AI signal optimization utilizes traffic information collected through the smart intersection system of the Intelligent Transportation Information System (ITS) established by Incheon City.

The purpose is to reduce vehicle congestion and speed up traffic by adjusting the signal cycle according to traffic volume, time zone, and road conditions.

This year, the Incheon Metropolitan Government plans to expand the application to eight major arterial roads: Geomdan-ro, Masohol-ro, Bongsu-daero, Injung-ro, Bongo-ro, Cheongneung-daero, Guwol-ro, and Songnim-ro.
