Lee Jae-myung, chairman of the Democratic Party of Korea, said he would quickly push for the independent counsel law on Chae Sang-byung again, and pointed out that the people's power should not oppose it this time if they have a conscience.

Representative Lee congratulated Colonel Park Jung-hoon on his acquittal at the Supreme Council, but said, "What on earth will you do with the enormous cost, pain, and time that you have done so far?"

He then stressed that the military prosecution, which indicted Colonel Park, should thoroughly investigate and find out the details of the death and concealment of Chae Sang-byung along with those who committed illegal acts in the prosecution and maintenance of prosecution under the Special Prosecutor Act.

The Democratic Party said it is preparing to conduct a major reform of the military prosecution as well as the reform of the prosecution under the Ministry of Justice, after being suspended due to the emergency martial law.
