The Chungcheongbuk-do Election Commission said it has filed a complaint with the police against Mr. A, a prospective candidate for the 1st National Community Credit Cooperative Chairman's election in March, on charges of violating voter purchases and donations.

Mr. A, a prospective candidate in North Chungcheong Province, is accused of giving envelopes containing 500,000 won to each of the three members to help him with the election in the middle of last month.

The related law stipulates that candidates will be sentenced to up to three years in prison or fined up to 30 million won for buying or donating electors.
