The AI semiconductor export regulations announced by the Biden administration divide countries around the world into three grades.
18 allies, including South Korea, can buy unlimited AI semiconductors,
It is the same as now that exports are completely banned to more than 20 countries of concern, including China, Russia, and North Korea.
The new content is the rest of the countries.
More than 100 countries, including India, Brazil, and Argentina, have restrictions on importing only 50,000 AI semiconductors over the next three years.
It is analyzed as a measure to block China's bypass route of importing AI semiconductors through third countries.
Nvidia shares, which dominate the global AI semiconductor market, plunged.
This is due to concerns that exports will decrease immediately.
Nvidia criticized the restrictions for failing to stifle China's threat and only weakening the U.S. global competitiveness.
Although the Biden administration has announced regulatory measures, the implementation is now on the next administration, which will take place next week, so the eyes are now on Trump.
The Biden administration predicted that the Trump administration would continue the regulation of semiconductors in China, saying it was reached by a bipartisan agreement.
[Gina Rermondo / Secretary of Commerce]: I don't think Trump will go against his great achievements in semiconductors. The reason is that it was very successful above all else.]
But Nvidia and other semiconductor industries are calling for Biden-style deregulation and urging the Trump administration to come up with new policies, drawing keen attention to Trump's choice to take office next week.
