Minister Pistorius arrived in Kyiv on the 14th local time and met with President Volodymyr Zelensky and Defense Minister Rustem Umerow to discuss ways to support Ukraine's military production.
Also stressed that Germany's support for Ukraine will be reliable and unchanged no matter what government is inaugurated after the German general election on the 23rd of next month.
The schedule for Pistorius' visit was not disclosed in advance.
The visit appears to be meant to dispel concerns in Ukraine that Western support could weaken ahead of the inauguration of U.S. President-elect Donald Trump, who is expected to pressure the end of the war.
