The National Archives of the Ministry of Public Administration and Security said it has notified 20 agencies, including the presidential secretariat, of the ban on the disposal of related records to find out the truth about emergency martial law cases.
The target is records produced or received in connection with the president's declaration of emergency martial law on December 3 last year, and the ban on disposal is five years from today (15th), the official gazette notice date.
The agencies are the presidential secretariat and the National Security Office, the presidential security office, the presidential archives, the National Intelligence Service, the Ministry of National Defense, the Ministry of Public Administration and Security, the Joint Chiefs of Staff, the ROK Armed Forces Counterintelligence Command, the intelligence command, the army, navy and air force headquarters and subordinate units, the Capital Defense Command, the Army Special Warfare Command, the National Police Agency, the National Assembly Secretariat, and the Central Election Commission.
