Song Ki-seop, the head of Jincheon County, Chungcheongbuk-do Province, held a press conference at Chungcheongbuk-do Provincial Government and said, "In situations where people's lives are difficult, words and actions that cause unnecessary conflict and division should be avoided."

Governor Song stressed, "It is the job of local governments to support the people to focus on their livelihoods and daily lives away from worries."

Song's remarks are interpreted to be aimed at North Chungcheong Province Governor Kim Young-hwan's recent remarks on social media, saying, "It is clearly wrong to put police in the arrest of the incumbent president of the illegal airlift."

Song, who is in his last term in office for three consecutive terms, is mentioned as a candidate for the next Chungcheongbuk-do governor of the Democratic Party of Korea.
