The Changwon District Court sentenced a man in his 20s to life imprisonment, while an accomplice, a man in his 30s and another man in his 20s, were sentenced to 30 years and 25 years in prison, respectively.
The court revealed the reason for the sentencing, saying that they are avoiding responsibility with excuses even if they kill victims they have never seen and hide them in a reservoir.
They were put on trial in May last year on charges of kidnapping and killing a Korean tourist in Pattaya, Thailand, and dumping the body into a reservoir.
Two people, including A, are also accused of withdrawing 3.7 million won from the victim's account after the crime and threatening to call the victim's parents and send 100 million won.
