Government "Jeju Air Disaster 'Public Donations' paid after 31 days"

The government has decided to pay public donations for the victims of the Jeju Air plane disaster and their bereaved families after the end of the fundraising on the 31st.

An official from the Central Disaster and Safety Countermeasures Headquarters said that the government has changed its plan to pay public donations before the Lunar New Year holiday and after the 31st when the fundraising ends.

He explained that the decision was made based on the opinion of the bereaved family's delegation that it would be better to discuss it after the fundraising was completed.

Since December 30 last year, the Community Chest of Korea, the Korean Red Cross, and the National Disaster Relief Association have been raising funds for the people.
