A soldier who wielded a weapon was arrested after the attempted sexual assault was stopped.

The Daejeon Metropolitan Police Agency handed over A, an active-duty soldier in his 20s, to the prosecution in custody on charges of wielding a weapon while attempting sexual assault.

Mr. A is accused of wielding a weapon and injuring a woman when he tried to rape an unknown woman in the women's bathroom of a building in Jung-gu, Daejeon on the afternoon of the 8th.

It was investigated that A followed a woman entering the bathroom on the day she returned to the unit and committed the crime with a weapon prepared in advance.

The police said A did not remember some of the crimes and that no special motive was confirmed.
