Ulsan University, Ulsan's only four-year general university, has only one campus in Nam-gu, making it less accessible to residents in other regions.

Ulsan University is drawing attention by opening the first university campus, "YubiCam," which is one of the projects of Glocal University.

I'm reporter Park Young-hoon of JCN Ulsan Central Broadcasting.

Foreign workers gather in classrooms to receive online training in their own languages.

The training that workers are receiving is a smart factory lecture conducted by a professor at Ulsan University.

Ubicam No. 1, part of Ulsan University's Glocal University project, opened at the HD Hyundai Heavy Industries Root Academy, allowing workers to receive education from Ulsan University.Ubicam, which means

'Ubiquitous Campus', is a campus that provides customized education to corporate employees and students, foreigners and Ulsan citizens who are unable to receive Ulsan University's education by creating campuses throughout Ulsan.

[Oh Yeon-cheon / President of Ulsan National University: Ulsan National University focuses on various educational and training programs related to the efforts of (workers) to adapt to the new environment, on-site technology, and pride as a member of HD Hyundai Heavy Industries....]

Starting with the opening of Ubicam No. 1, Ulsan University plans to build a total of seven Ubicam in major industrial complexes and downtown areas by early next year, including the Buk-gu Lifelong Learning Center, which is building Ubicam No. 2.

The UbiCam No. 1 Root Academy will operate industry-specific education for workers, including safety and health education, while the UbiCam, which will be created in the future, will operate AI education, technology start-ups, and lifelong education for citizens.

Ulsan City expects to contribute to fostering local industries and creating jobs by strengthening cooperation in the industry through Ubicam.

[Kim Doo-gyeom / Ulsan Mayor: With the opening of Ubicam, we will further enhance the overall urban competitiveness of the industry and education by cultivating a wide range of customized talents suitable for the Ulsan industry and desired by Ulsan companies.]

Attention is focusing on whether the Ulsan University Ubicam, which will be built throughout the Ulsan region, will be able to resolve educational barriers in the region and make the entire city a space for education and industrial ecosystem innovation.
