A hiker who was climbing Namdeokyusan Mountain in Jangsu, Jeollabuk-do, was taken to the hospital in cardiac arrest, but died.

A hiker in his 40s suddenly collapsed near the top while climbing Namdeokyusan Mountain in Jangsu-gun, Jeollabuk-do, around 11:30 a.m. today (19th).

A 119 rescue helicopter was dispatched to the hospital after another hiker reported it, but he died about two hours after the transfer.

Police are investigating the exact circumstances of the accident based on witness statements.
