TikTok, which had been disconnected from the U.S. due to the so-called "TikTok Prohibition Act," has started preparing to resume its service in less than a day.

This is because of a word from President-elect Donald Trump, who said he would save TikTok.

Reporter Yoon Hyun-sook reports.

Hours before the 'TikTok Ban Act' took effect in the United States.

TikTok has already disappeared from Google and Apple app stores.

There is a notice that it cannot be used even if existing users access it.

The U.S. Congress enacted a "TikTok Ban Act" in April last year, saying TikTok parent company China ByteDance had concerns about national security, such as collecting a large amount of American personal information.

TikTok sued in U.S. courts but lost and is on the verge of being forced out.

However, the situation turned around as President-elect Trump, who is about to take office, became a relief pitcher.

In a post on his social media, Trump said he would issue an executive order on the day of his inauguration to suspend the "anti-TikTok law" and could reach an agreement to protect national security.

It proposed a plan to create a joint venture involving TikTok and U.S. companies to give the U.S. side a half stake.

TikTok, which expressed its welcome, immediately started restoring its service.

"We will work with President-elect Trump to explore long-term solutions to keep TikTok in the United States," TikTok said.
