The World Economic Forum, the Davos Forum, which brings together leaders from all over the world, will kick off in Davos, a Swiss resort, for a five-day visit from the 20th local time.

The theme of the Davos Forum, which marks its 55th anniversary this year, is "Cooperation in the Intelligent Era," and more than 2,500 people from around the world, including senior government officials, corporate CEOs, and academic officials, will attend.

President-elect Donald Trump will also announce his return to the international stage through an online speech on the afternoon of the 23rd, three days after his inauguration.

In Korea, where Prime Minister Han Deok-soo attended last year, Gyeonggi Province Governor Kim Dong-yeon will be the only politician to attend this year, while HD Hyundai Senior Vice Chairman Chung Ki-sun and Hanwha Life Insurance President Kim Dong-won will participate in the business community.

Launched in 1971, the Davos Forum is an annual event where prominent politicians, businessmen, and scholars from each country gather in Davos, eastern Switzerland, every January to discuss current issues facing the world.
