Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education aims to open winter-oriented sports high schools in Yangju in 2030.

The Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education said it plans to establish a sports high school centered on winter sports with the goal of opening in 2030.

Sports High School is established in Yangju City, which has expressed its intention to provide the site.

The Provincial Office of Education explained that it planned to establish a sports high school to create synergy in line with Yangju City's application to host an international ice rink.

In a recent press conference, superintendent Lim Tae-hee said, "Yangju-si has favorable conditions in terms of accessibility and site security," adding, "It will be helpful to have a related infrastructure plan for attracting an international ice rink."
