Disguised self-harm as industrial accident...Foreigners caught for extended stay

The Busan Metropolitan Police Agency's Criminal Investigation Unit handed over A to the prosecution on charges of camouflaging self-harm as an industrial accident to earn medical care benefits and extending the legal stay with 15 foreigners and setting up a false workplace to help the crime.

Foreigners are accused of stealing about 500 million won in medical care benefits and suspension benefits by deceiving them for getting injured while working, and A is accused of setting up a false workplace to help determine industrial accidents and collect fees.

It was investigated that A approached foreigners who were illegally staying or whose legal period was ending and told them how to do it.

Police officials explained that all 15 foreigners are tracking down four who were forced to leave the country and fled.
