A 20-year-old man who was put on trial for strangling a middle school classmate for a long time was sentenced to prison in the first trial.

The Incheon District Court sentenced A, a man in his 20s, to five years in prison in the first trial today (26th) on charges of assault murder and special injury.

The court criticized A for committing harsh acts, such as burning the victim under the pretext of a joke, and that he vehemently denies the charges even though he killed the victim through assault.

However, A, who was in detention, did not arrest him in court, saying that he would be able to take responsibility for the second trial and the results of the treatment as he is still being treated after being released last year to treat mental illness.

Mr. A was accused of strangling the victim in a jjimjilbang in August last year after committing harsh acts such as hitting him in the face, taking money and valuables, or supporting his soles with a lighter.

In a final hearing held in July, the prosecution demanded a 15-year prison term for A.
