Attorney General "Kim's Deutch Case May Have Reason for Not Handling 2021"

Justice Minister Park Sung-jae said, "If we can indict Yoon Suk Yeol's spouse, Kim Gun-hee, on the alleged manipulation of Deutsche Motors' stock price based on recent reports, why couldn't we handle it in 2021?"

Minister Park made the remarks today (8th) while answering the question of media analysis that the prosecution is likely to indict Kim in connection with the Deutsche Motors case.

Minister Park explained that the recent allegations of Kim's involvement in Deutsche were all collected in the second half of 2021, and that the prosecution did not hide them and submitted them to the court as evidence.

He added that there must be a reason why the prosecutors who investigated the case could not handle it while the command of the president of Yoon Suk Yeol was excluded at the time, adding that the investigation team would be thinking the same thing now.

Regarding Kim's acceptance of luxury bags, Minister Park said that there is no punishment regulation for spouses in the anti-graft law, explaining that if there is no job relevance, there is no obligation to report it to public officials.

He also said that the Changwon District Prosecutors' Office is currently investigating allegations of Kim's involvement in the nomination and that it will be handled in accordance with laws and principles.
