The Incheon Metropolitan Government announced that 474 artificial fish reefs will be installed in the waters of Daecheong and Socheongdo Island in Ongjin-gun and near Deokjeok and Jawoldo Island to secure fisheries resources.
The fishing grounds created by the installation of artificial reefs are 40ha in total, and 56 soccer fields are wide.
Artificial fish reefs are so-called 'fish apartments' made of concrete or steel for the purpose of living in the sea and creating spawning grounds.
The artificial fish banks to be installed by Incheon Metropolitan City are three types of fish banks selected by the Incheon Seaweed Management Committee as suitable for the marine environment, including the depth and currents of each sea area.
