Lee Jung-geun, chairman of Booyoung Group, who provided 100 million won in childbirth incentives for in-house employees, took office as the 19th president of the Korea Senior Citizens' Association.

In his inaugural address, Chairman Lee said he has a heavy responsibility as it represents and serves the rights and interests of 10 million elderly people, and also suggested specific measures such as raising the age of the elderly and the system for dying at home.

To address the social structural imbalance caused by the accelerating aging population, the age of the elderly should be raised to 75 years old by one year per year, and efforts will be made to introduce a budget for the end-of-life system at home so that they can die at home, he said.

Lee also said he would cooperate with related agencies to establish a new population department that combines birth support, the Ministry of Youth and Family Affairs, and welfare of the elderly.

Booyoung Group said Chairman Lee has been leading the education, social and cultural projects at the group level, spending KRW 265 billion at his private expense, along with KRW 1.8 trillion in social contribution activities.
