On the 17th, Gangbuk-gu Office posted a promotional video for the "Hanmaum Sports Festival" in the region under the title of "[Gongdult] Sorry."

In the video, a woman appeared under the name of "Palm Hani" in a costume similar to Hani, who attended the parliamentary inspection of the Environment and Labor Committee on the 15th as a reference. The video also showed him stuttering and saying incorrectly, "Gangnam-gu Hanmaum Sports Festival?" when asked "Do you know where the competition will be held?"

Some netizens who saw the video immediately protested, calling it "clear mockery of foreigners." In particular, Hani, a Vietnamese-Australian, was criticized for being racist for describing her lack of understanding of lawmakers' questions or speaking vague Korean during a parliamentary audit.

In response, Gangbuk-gu said on its YouTube channel on the 21st, "Contrary to the original intention of production, we humbly accepted the concerns and concerns about the criticism of many people that it is a subject of discrimination against foreigners, and processed the video behind closed doors."

He then bowed his head, saying, "I deeply apologize for causing concern to everyone who may have felt uncomfortable with this video."
