Amid a series of controversies over his rude talk, Chairman Lim Hyun-taek, president of the Korean Medical Association, has reportedly demanded a settlement of 100 million won from an executive of the Seoul Medical Association who slandered him.

The Medical Association said that Chairman Lim received a complaint in July after posting a false slander on the medical community that he stole 400 million won from his major, and that the person who posted the slander during the investigation turned out to be A, an executive of the Seoul Medical Association.

Mr. A visited the medical association on the 10th and apologized to Chairman Lim, but Chairman Lim reportedly said he could not forgive and told him to pay 100 million won in settlement.

In response, the medical association said it sincerely apologized for Chairman Lim's failure to control his emotions, but explained that it was not to ask for actual money, but to emphasize A's fault.

He then said that those who falsely slander would be held accountable, adding that A would also take stern measures, including referral to the Central Ethics Committee.
