The Nuclear Safety and Security Commission previously conducted a physical examination by submitting documents such as a medical certificate to obtain and maintain a license for operating a nuclear reactor, but from the 1st of next month, it will have to meet the criteria for passing the physical examination prescribed by the revised Nuclear Safety Act.
In addition, those who have obtained a nuclear reactor pilot license must renew their license every six years, and they must meet the conditions for passing the NSSC's career certification exam within three years of the renewal application date before expiration.
The commission added that illegal acts of obtaining a license and borrowing or arranging a license could result in up to a year in prison or a fine of up to 10 million won.
