The prosecution demanded a seven-year prison term for Ahn in a final hearing held at the Seoul Southern District Court on the 29th. In addition, he asked the court to impose a fine of 2 billion won, confiscation of two luxury watches, and a fine of 1.5 billion won.
According to the prosecution, Ahn is accused of accepting 3 billion won in cash, two luxury watches worth 400 million won, and a membership card for a high-end restaurant from Lee Sang-joon (55), former CEO of Bithumb Holdings, and Kang Jong-hyun (43), a businessman, from September to November 2021. Bithumb Holdings is the largest shareholder of Bithumb Korea, which operates Bithumb, a coin exchange.
