Regarding the recording of the call between President Yoon Suk Yeol and Myung Tae-kyun released by the Democratic Party, the president's office acknowledged the call itself but drew a line that President Yoon was not involved in the nomination. The phone conversation of

was not particularly important, but internally, it was confirmed that President Yoon discussed countermeasures, including an emergency luncheon meeting with his staff.

The presidential office emphasized that the recording of the call in question was made before President Yoon Suk Yeol took office, that is, the "elect."

At the time, Yoon said he had never received a report from the officialdom committee or ordered the nomination, explaining that the nomination decision makers at the time were Lee Joon-seok, the party leader, and Yoon Sang-hyun, the chairman of the nomination management committee.

Regarding the contents of the call itself surrounding former lawmaker Kim Young-sun's nomination, the presidential office said, "It was not particularly important."

As Myung Tae-kyun continues to talk about nominating Kim Young-sun, President Yoon is just saying good things.

The presidential office even attached a related information, saying that then party leader Lee Joon-seok also recently explained in detail on social media that there is no problem with the decision on the strategic nomination at the top.

Citing the position of the former leader, who defected from the party and is currently in another party, is interpreted as an intention to thoroughly block suspicions of "intervention in the nomination."

After the Democratic Party's disclosure of the call, President Yoon held an emergency luncheon meeting with about 10 staff members, including Chief of Staff Jeong Jin-seok, to discuss countermeasures.

A high-ranking official in the presidential office said in a phone call with YTN that he did not remember President Yoon's phone call with Myung itself.

He said he seems to have answered the phone with hundreds of congratulatory messages for his election, adding that he said he answered the phone because he had a relationship in the early days of the presidential election.

Officials from the presidential office who attended the luncheon also responded that President Yoon was embarrassed and ridiculous about the release of such a recording.

However, the opposition party is trying to raise the offensive level to the highest level, so the future impact is drawing attention.
