How far has the typhoon come now?

[Reporter]
The screen behind me is a video taken by CCTV installed on the coast of Zhejiang Province in mainland China.

The 21st typhoon Kong-rey is passing this area right now.

It has not yet been confirmed whether it has landed or not.

However, when the typhoon approached, up to 358mm of rain fell in this area for 24 hours.

The Zhejiang government evacuated 280,000 people, including coastal and mountainous villagers.

Shanghai, China's largest economic city, also received up to 132 millimeters of rain overnight.

It is said that November's precipitation is the highest in 43 years since 1981.

A typhoon struck Taiwan earlier, how is the damage?

[Reporter]
The typhoon passed through southeastern Taiwan to the northwest for five hours yesterday afternoon.

Taiwan's Central Disaster Response Center said the typhoon killed one person and injured 205 others.

It was different from local media reporting that the death toll was three.

Companies and schools have not opened in most parts of Taiwan, and 740,000 homes have lost power.

Taiwan's Meteorological Department said it was the first typhoon to make landfall in late October since the 1958 observation.

In particular, it seems necessary to prepare even if the typhoon disappears from the far sea of Jeju, as it has brought rain clouds of up to 1,500mm of heavy rain for three days.
