Israeli attacks are also snowballing infrastructure damage in Lebanon's border region, according to an analysis.

The Washington Post reported that its own analysis of satellite images showed that about a quarter of buildings had been destroyed or damaged by the 26th of last month in 25 administrative districts in southern Lebanon adjacent to the Israeli border.

In particular, more than 5,800 buildings were damaged in the border area, and nearly half of the buildings were damaged in two of the hardest-hit areas, Aita al-Shab and Kfar Kela.

About 80% of the damage to buildings has occurred since April 2, the day after Israel deployed ground forces, and the pace of destruction is doubling every two weeks.

In response, the Israeli military said in a statement to the Washington Post that Hezbollah intentionally buried such facilities in civilian villages and that it was conducting "limited targeted airstrikes based on accurate information."
