The court recommended reconciliation to a civil lawsuit filed by actress Lee Young-ae against a YouTuber who reported that she and Kim Gun-hee were close, but did not accept it.

The Seoul Western District Court's Civil Agreement Department 12 (Chief Judge Jinyoung Kim) made a decision to recommend reconciliation on the 29th of last month against Lee Young-ae's compensation suit against Jeong Cheon-soo, former CEO of Open Sympathy TV. Reconciliation recommendation decision is that the court recommends reconciliation ex officio to resolve cases under trial.

As a condition of reconciliation, the court suggested deleting the video that was problematic for the defendant, former representative Chung, banning broadcasting related to the friendship between Lee Young-ae and Kim in the future, and reflecting the position of the parties when broadcasting Lee Young-ae's political orientation. Plaintiff Lee Young-ae was conditioned to drop the criminal complaint.

However, according to Newsis today (14th), Lee Young-ae submitted an objection to the court's recommendation for reconciliation on the 12th.

Accordingly, the court will set a new sentencing date and make a ruling.

In September last year, Lee Young-ae donated 50 million won to the Presidential Memorial Foundation, sending a letter saying, "First President Lee Seung-man is a transitional man, but he has laid the foundation for today's free Republic of Korea."

In response, Sympathy TV reported that his donation in the same month was due to his friendship with Kim. In October last year, Lee Young-ae filed a criminal complaint and filed a civil lawsuit on charges of defamation under the Information and Communication Network Act, claiming that former CEO Chung disparaged Lee Young-ae and distributed fake news through YouTube channels.

In the civil trial that has been underway, Lee Young-ae claimed to have suffered losses due to defamation caused by false facts. On the other hand, former representative Chung refuted that the content was not false and was for the public interest and that it was not illegal.
