Prosecutors have demanded a heavy sentence for all Samsung Electronics employees accused of leaking core semiconductor technologies to Chinese companies.
The prosecution asked the court to sentence Kim to 20 years in prison at the Seoul Central District Court today (12th).
The prosecution emphasized strict law enforcement, saying that the technology leak crime is a serious crime that can shake the technological foundation of the state and the affected companies.
Kim was accused of leaking Samsung Electronics' 18-nanometer DRAM semiconductor process information without permission and providing it to Chinese company CXMT.
