Parental leave benefits will increase by up to 28% on a 12-month basis.

It will be increased from up to 1.5 million won to 2.5 million won per month for the first three months, 2 million won for the next three months, and up to 1.6 million won for the remaining six months.

When the one-year parental leave benefits are combined, up to 5.1 million won will be increased to 23.1 million won, and up to 59.2 million won will be provided for parents of children within 18 months of age.

Parental leave benefits for single-parent families have also been raised to 3 million won in the first three months.

The post-payment of 25% parental leave benefits has also disappeared, so we will receive all of them during the leave period in the future.

The government deliberated and voted on the amendment to the Enforcement Decree of the Employment Insurance Act for Work-Family Balance at the first Cabinet meeting under the acting authority.

We will also increase support for small businesses.

In the case of shortening maternity leave and childcare work, the subsidy for alternative personnel was expanded to 1.2 million won per month, and parental leave was included in the support along with the subsidy for sharing peer work.

In addition, workers will be able to use parental leave even if the employer does not express their intention to allow it in writing within 14 days.
