The Ministry of Education said a total of 12 students were killed in the accident, including one child at a daycare center, four elementary school students, three middle school students, and four high school students.
They attended schools in South Jeolla Province and Gwangju, as well as Sejong, Gyeonggi Province and North Jeolla Province.
The Ministry of Education explained that it has formed a situation management task force to establish a 24-hour communication system with the relevant education office and plans to support academic support and psychological treatment at the school to which the victim belongs.
