Early this morning, Jeju Air's flight from Gimpo Airport to Jeju Island was urgently returned due to a defect in the aircraft.

It was confirmed to be the same model as the passenger plane that had an accident at Muan Airport yesterday.

I'll connect you with more news and reporters.

Jeju Air Flight 7C101, which departed Gimpo Airport at around 6:30 a.m. and headed to Jeju Island with 161 passengers, was urgently returned.

Jeju Air said it returned to Gimpo Airport shortly after takeoff after finding a landing gear problem on the aircraft.

Passengers said they would return at around 7 p.m., about 30 minutes after departure, citing the initial airframe defect.

After getting off at Gimpo Airport at around 7:20 p.m., it was reported that it was returned due to a landing gear problem.

Let's hear from the passengers at that time.

[Roh Sung-min / Passengers: After landing, it was not a defect in the aircraft, but an in-flight announcement said it was returned due to a landing gear abnormality. Everyone was surprised after landing.]

The flight returned is Boeing's B737-800, the same model that had an accident at Muan Airport yesterday.

Jeju Air prepared another aircraft and departed for Jeju again at around 08:50, but 21 passengers who felt anxious canceled their trip altogether.

Jeju Air said it returned for inspection due to an abnormality in landing gear and said it is trying to find out the exact cause.

The Korea Airports Corporation put a fire brigade on standby just in case, and explained that maintenance is underway at Jeju Air.
