Eight people involved in the collapse of Siheung Bridge construction are sent.

In April, eight people responsible for the collapse of the bridge top structure during the Siheung road construction in Gyeonggi Province were handed over to the prosecution.

Siheung Police Station in Gyeonggi Province sent six people, including A, the head of the SK Eco Plant site, and two subcontractors, today (30th) on charges of neglecting safety obligations, killing one person and injuring six others.

Mr. A and others are suspected of causing an accident by requiring the use of equipment contrary to its original purpose at the construction site of the west coast bypass road in Wolgot-dong, Siheung-si, Gyeonggi-do, on the afternoon of April 30.

Police determined that the screwjack, an equipment that prevents electricity from flowing, was used as a support for levelling up, failing to overcome the weight and being damaged.

As a result of the inspection, the girders from No. 2 to No. 9 climbed the bridge normally in the first place, but finally, the girders broke in the process of raising No. 1 girders, and the impact also collapsed the rest.

Earlier on April 30, a bridge accident in Wolgot-dong, Siheung-si, Gyeonggi-do, killed a worker in his 50s, and injured six people, including five other workers and a citizen.
