The arrest period of Roh Sang-won, the former commander of the South Korean military intelligence, who is suspected of plotting martial law as a civilian, has been extended.

Roh is accused of pre-mocking emergency martial law at a hamburger store in Ansan, Gyeonggi Province, on the 1st and 3rd of last month.

As a result of the investigation, it was found that the meeting set up an informal organization called "Investigation 2nd Stage" under the joint martial law investigation headquarters and discussed ways to take control of the Central Election Commission.

The prosecution is expected to hand over former commander Roh to trial after conducting a reinforcing investigation based on additional investigations conducted so far.
