Police have launched a full-fledged investigation, including a search and seizure of malicious posts and comments on the victims of the Jeju Air plane disaster and their bereaved families.

The National Police Agency's National Investigation Headquarters said it has launched a pre-book investigation into 70 cases, including malicious comments and YouTube videos insulting victims and bereaved families.

The Jeonnam Police Agency's cyber investigation team has applied for six seizure and search warrants, and it has been confirmed that the execution of the warrants has already been completed.

Police defined it as a serious criminal act and formed a dedicated investigation team after slander and rumors spread against the victims and bereaved families of the Jeju Air disaster.

A total of 118 people will participate in the dedicated investigation team organized by the cyber investigation unit of the metropolitan and provincial police offices nationwide.

The investigation team plans to strengthen monitoring of defamation, insulting posts, and videos related to the victims, and if illegal activities are found, it will launch an investigation or investigation before the book is booked and delete the posts.
