The Ministry of Education announced that it has decided to veto a bill that defines AI digital textbooks as educational materials through government-government consultations.

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Education Lee Ju-ho said in a briefing held at the Seoul Government Complex today (10th) that "We decided to demand reconsideration through high-level government-government consultations," and that Acting President Choi Sang-mok and floor leader Kwon Sung-dong also attended the meeting.

However, he later explained that no matter what the conclusion was at the plenary session, he decided to give front-line schools the option to use AI textbooks for a year this year.

The Education Ministry said the bill has not yet been transferred from the National Assembly to the government, and that it will go through the process of a Cabinet meeting as soon as it is confirmed.
