Police plan to mobilize 1,200 people, including detectives from wide-area investigation teams
Police to avoid armed conflict with security and to consider executing warrants
While the Senior Civil Servant Corruption Investigations Unit and the police are expected to soon execute a second arrest warrant for President Yoon Suk Yeol, the police are also making detailed preparations.
In particular, the police plan to put in a large number of veteran detectives who have arrested drug and gang offenders to execute the warrant this time.

While Airborne Minister Oh Dong-woon has vowed to keep his manners toward the president, it is predicted that the execution of the second arrest warrant will take place as early as this week to avoid holidays.
On the 9th, the National Police Agency's special investigation team sent an official letter to four police agencies in the Seoul metropolitan area, including Seoul, Gyeonggi and Incheon, and issued a "general mobilization order" to detectives of the metropolitan investigation team and began preparing for an arrest operation in earnest.
In addition, the head of the Metropolitan Investigation Team's general police level was called to the National Investigation Headquarters to discuss detailed enforcement measures.
The wide-area investigation team consists of the Criminal Investigation Unit, the Anti-Corruption Investigation Unit, and the Drug Crime Investigation Unit, with more than 1,000 members of the four police agencies.
At the time of the first execution, the Senior Civil Servant Corruption Investigations Unit and the police put in more than 150 people, but they failed to arrest President Yoon because they were blocked by human bands made by more than 200 security officials and security forces.
As such, the police plan to mobilize 1,200 large-scale personnel, including a wide-area investigation team consisting of veteran detectives who have arrested violent criminals such as gangsters and drugs.
However, there are concerns internally that it may be difficult to mobilize frontline detectives at once.
In addition, the security service's possession of weapons is pointed out as a risk factor, and it is also a concern for the police to find a way to execute a warrant while avoiding large-scale armed conflict.
Attention is focusing on whether the police, who are preparing to mobilize a large-scale experienced workforce, will be able to break through various variables and secure President Yoon's recruits this time.
