Former Defense Minister Kim Yong-hyun, who was arrested and charged with engaging in an important mission of rebellion, requested bail from the court.

Former Minister Kim's lawyers submitted a bail application to the Criminal Agreement Department 25 of the Seoul Central District Court, which was in charge of the trial today (13th).

At the same time, he demanded that the 16th, when the first trial preparation date was announced, be designated as a bail hearing date.

Former Minister Kim's side argued that the National Assembly's exclusion of rebellion from the reason for impeachment of the president is a significant change in circumstances and a clear reason for bail.

He also emphasized the need for bail, saying that as one of the defendants, he should be fully guaranteed the right to defend himself.

Former Minister Kim was arrested on the 27th of last month on charges of conspiring with President Yoon Suk Yeol to plan emergency martial law for the purpose of national constitutional controversy and putting soldiers and police into the National Assembly and the NEC.
