The 42nd election for the president of the Korea Sports Council will be held today (15th).

Six people, including Lee Ki-heung, chairman of the Sports Council, Kim Yong-joo, former secretary-general of the Gangwon-do Sports Council, Yoo Seung Min, former president of the Korea Table Tennis Association, Kang Tae-sun, president of the Seoul Sports Council, Oh Joo-young, president of the Korea Sepak Takraw Association, and Kang Shin-wook, emeritus professor of Dankook University, threw their ballots.

The event will begin at 1 p.m. at Olympic Hall in Seoul Olympic Park, and the winner will be outlined around 6 p.m. through on-site voting by 2,244 electors.

Earlier, candidate Kang Shin-wook and others applied for a provisional injunction to suspend the election, saying that there were problems with the composition and procedure of the electoral group and that the election time and place were limited, which violated the right to vote, but the Seoul Eastern District Court did not accept it.
