President Yoon Suk Yeol, who has expressed his willingness to go directly to the impeachment trial through his lawyer, has decided not to attend today (14th).
Many analysts say that it is because of concerns that an arrest warrant could be executed.

President Yoon Suk Yeol's stance in responding to the investigation of rebellion and the impeachment trial was 180 degrees different from the beginning.
Unlike the non-response to the investigative agency, President Yoon has confirmed several times that he will attend the Constitutional Court in person.
[Yoon Gap-geun / Representative for President Yoon Suk Yeol (last month 27th): You will come to the impeachment trial at the right time and speak for yourself.]
This is because there was a calculation that the president would be able to attend in person and explain the legitimacy of declaring martial law, but suddenly the position changed.
Two days before the hearing date, he mentioned the execution of an arrest warrant by the Joint Investigation Headquarters, saying that the president's personal safety and security issues should be resolved.
In the end, the prevailing analysis is that anxiety that leaving a residence such as a fortress could lead to arrest has been revealed.
On top of that, there is an interpretation that the intention is to emphasize the unfairness of the arrest warrant by highlighting that the right to speak directly as an impeachment trial respondent was violated.
Although some have raised the possibility of delaying the judgment process with similar logic, the prevailing view is that the Constitutional Court will not accept it.
[Choi Keo-hoon / Representative for President Yoon Suk Yeol (last 3 days): For the respondent president, the 180-day guarantee is absolutely unyielding.]
Former Presidents Roh Moo Hyun and Park Geun Hye, who were previously impeached, never attended the Constitutional Court, but all procedures were completed in two and three months, respectively.
