The President's Application to Avoid Justice in Political Elections...Constitutional Court meets with justices today

The president of Yoon Suk Yeol submitted a number of documents ahead of the first hearing of the impeachment case.

In addition, the Democratic Party of Korea's recommended judges in political elections filed a challenge, saying, "It is difficult to make a fair judgment."

The Constitutional Court decided to hold a meeting of judges before pleading to discuss the matter.

There are four major documents submitted by President Yoon to the Constitutional Court.

First, the opposition-recommended judge of the political election submitted an application for challenge, saying, "It is difficult to expect a fair judgment."

Justice Chung was the chairman of the Korean Law Research Association with progressive tendencies,
It was based on the fact that the chairman of the foundation to which the spouse of
belongs is a member of the National Assembly's delegation.

Earlier, Judge Chung also expressed his position on emergency martial law during the confirmation hearing,

[Jeong Gye-seon / Constitutional Judge (at the time of the confirmation hearing): If you physically blocked the National Assembly and interfered with the members' parliamentary activities, I think it is unconstitutional.]

'Justice Chung has shown his prediction,' he said, adding that he decided to use it as the basis for his application for challenge.

The president also questioned the Constitutional Court's decision to proceed with a formal hearing after preparing for the hearing.

Until the decision of the impeachment trial against Prime Minister Han Deok-soo is preceded,
It is not possible to participate in the hearing date because it is unclear whether the
court is legally formed.

He also pointed out that a full-fledged defense can be initiated only when the subject of the judgment is confirmed in writing regarding the withdrawal of the rebellion.

In addition, they raised objections to the Constitutional Court's decision to collectively designate the 5th hearing date and secure the ongoing investigation record.

In response, the Constitutional Court decided to convene a meeting of judges four hours before the first hearing to discuss the challenge.
