The Constitutional Court held the first hearing of the impeachment trial at 2 p.m. today (14th), but the hearing date ended at around 2:04 p.m. because the respondent, President Yoon, was not present.
However, the court explained that the hearing process will proceed even if President Yoon does not attend on the second hearing date, which will be held the afternoon of the day after tomorrow (16th).
Earlier in the day, the court said it would reject President Yoon's application for the avoidance of constitutional judges by Jeong Gye-seon with the consensus of all seven judges.
The objection to the collective designation of the hearing date was also rejected, saying it was based on the Constitutional Court Act.
