All of today's large-scale crashes in Seoul and Gyeonggi Province appear to be caused by "black ice" caused by snow melting and then thinly freezing again. Why black ice, also called the '∀ on the road' is dangerous and what is the right way to deal with it,

In November last year, 43 cars were involved in a series of crashes in Wonju, Gangwon Province, which caused a traffic disturbance on the way home from work.
In January last year, 47 cars were involved in a series of crashes in Pocheon, Gyeonggi-do, where more than 30 people were killed or injured.
All of them are major traffic accidents blamed on 'black ice'.
Black ice refers to 'black ice' that melts after snow falls and then freezes again overnight, making it thin on the road.
It's hard to tell when and where we'll meet, but once a vehicle slips, it often spreads into a series of collisions.
In particular, it is called the "Hassel on the Road" because the number of deaths is higher than that of ordinary snow accidents and the fatality rate is high.
[Cho Jung-kwon / Director of Safety Management, Korea Transportation Safety Authority: Since operating the steering wheel cannot go in the desired direction with increased speed, the car will fall, overturn, or crash into the car in front of it, which is considered to be a high fatality rate]
Accidents caused by black ice often occur in the late night hours or early morning when temperatures drop sharply.
It's more dangerous when it's 2-3 degrees Celsius than sub-zero weather.
Since it usually occurs in shaded areas, you need to slow down when passing through tunnel entrances, bridges, and mountain roads, and secure enough distance from the car in front of you to avoid accidents.
In fact, YTN conducted a black ice risk experiment with a specialized agency and found that the braking distance was 16.7m when driving at 40km/h, which was more than twice as long as on a regular road.
If you slip without noticing black ice in advance, you must use the engine brake instead of pushing the brake hard or turning the steering wheel sharply to reduce damage.
It is also a good precaution to check the sections with frequent freezing traffic accidents in advance and start driving.
