The Joint Investigation Headquarters is expected to virtually complete the preparation for the execution of the second arrest warrant for President Yoon Suk Yeol and start executing it as early as tomorrow (15th).
The police convened a third meeting of senior police officers, including the head of criminal activities and the head of a drug crime investigation team from four police offices in the Seoul metropolitan area, including Seoul, Incheon, and southern and northern Gyeonggi Province, to conduct a last-minute inspection.
In addition to the police, about six people, including the senior prosecutor and the rank and file prosecutor of the Senior Civil Servant Corruption Investigations Unit, attended together to show their willingness to execute the warrant.
There were reportedly practical discussions at the meeting, including how to suppress the security service staff and plans to remove obstacles.
In the afternoon, the police also ordered the Metropolitan Police Agency's regional investigation team to convene and prepare for mobilization.
The order was issued to wait for dispatch, and police usually spread necessary matters, such as their roles, 24 hours before the start of a large-scale arrest operation.
The news that the execution of the warrant is on the countdown has heightened tensions in the presidential residence.Participants in the anti-impeachment rally of
countered by chanting conflicting slogans of 'immediate arrest' and 'invalidation of arrest', and some scuffled.
Amid the prospect that the second attempt to execute the warrant could be a "long-term war," there are also concerns about physical conflicts between investigative agencies, security agencies and rally participants.
